The former Disney Channel star stepped out on Monday, sporting a sleek dress for the TrevorLIVE gala in New York City.
The actress will join Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez, taking a permanent seat at their legendary lady table after guest hosting sporadically for the past few months.
"Raven-Symoné is a welcome addition to The View," said the show's executive producer Barbara Walters. "She is happy, amusing and well informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience."
Goldberg in particular had been lobbying to get Symoné hired, even allegedly "shoving her choice down everyone's throats."

A source tells People that Kim is three months along, which would make her due date some time in December, and "so happy," although it hasn't been easy pregnancy.
"She's nauseous full-time," says the source. "She can hardly get out of bed because of it."
Kim has been very public about her and Kanye's efforts to have a second child. Last August, she opened up to ET, telling us about trying IVF treatments to conceive, as well as having sex "500 times a day."
Meanwhile, Kim's pregnancy news has actually been trumped by a brave announcement by Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, who introduced herself to the world in Vanity Fair.
Kim congratulated Caitlyn by posting the cover on Twitter.

The charmed Kardashian sisters may seem to have it all, but during the family’s vacation in Montana, they almost lost everything.
On the mid-season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe, Kim, Kylie and baby North get into a terrifying car accident while maneuvering through the winding, snowy roads of Big Sky.
After a passing truck dumps snow on the roof of their SUV, Khloe, 30, loses control on black ice, causing the car to careen into oncoming traffic before landing in a ditch.
“It’s not my fault, it’s not my fault!” she screamed as the car spins out of control.
Fortunately, everyone is okay. After the car comes to a stop, Khloe and Kylie, 17, stay calm, but Kim bursts into tears.
“I thought I was going to die!” the 34-year-old sobs on the phone with husband Kanye West, 37.
During her confessional, Khloe gets deep.
“It makes you put everything into perspective,” she says about the crash. “Life, family, friends. What’s important to you. Things can change in a blink of an eye. Our family has learned that tons of times.”
“We had angels surrounding us today.”
Later, in a conversation with mom Kris, 59, Kim gains some perspective.
“Khloe literally saved our lives — I didn’t have a seatbelt on — we all could have died!” she tells the Momager, who ditched the getaway to meet daughter Kendall, 19, in Paris.
In addition to the scary crash, the episode also centers on Kim’s desperate struggle to create a sibling for North, who turns 2 in June.
After attempts at IVF fail, she undergoes a biopsy so fertility doctors can figure out why she can’t conceive again.
Frustrated, Kim turns to an unlikely source for advice: psychic John Edward.
Unfortunately, the former Crossing Over With John Edward host doesn’t see a baby bump in her future.

“Not seeing you conceiving. It’s just a hard time,” he says in a tense phone call, before suggesting that Kim visualize her child instead of obsessing about the pregnancy.
“My heart just kinda sinks,” she says. “I’m looking for a positive answer to push me along.”
But something must have worked, because in the preview for the second half of the E! series’ latest season, Kim tells Khloe she’s pregnant!
Meanwhile, upon returning to Los Angeles, Khloe and Kylie visit papa Bruce, 65, who is about to undergo facial feminization surgery.
“He’ll always be my father figure,” Khloe says about her stepfather’s highly publicized gender transition.
During the segment in Bruce’s Malibu home, the camera pans to his closet, which features red, black and even polka dot dresses.
Though the episode tackles some tough topics, there is a light moment when Kim tells a story during a Montana card game about a wild night in with the Jackson family.
When the reality star was 15, she says, she played Pictionary with the entire family, including Janet. But she messed up the game by confusing the word “angle” with “angel.”
Fortunately, her faux pas was forgiven. Perhaps “angles” really are looking out for Hollywood’s most famous family!

In a new sneak peek clip from the Keeping Up With the Kardashians special, About Bruce, Kim Kardashian confides in Kendall and Kylie Jenner about their mom Kris Jenner's reaction to the news that her ex-husband Bruce Jenner is transitioning from a male to a female.
"He's going to tell his full story," Kardashian, 34, tells her half-sisters about Bruce's historic Diane Sawyer interview. "At first I was like, 'I'm totally going to cry, I'm totally going to cry.' My throat was literally burning, just talking to him."

“I don’t know her taste yet, so I’m trying to figure it out,” says Kardashian, looking posh in a hat, fur vest and heels.

Terrence Howard says he has hard proof his ex-wife extorted him ... threatening to expose details about his genitals to the world unless he paid her handsomely.
Terrence just filed legal docs in his spousal support war with Michelle, who got 5 years worth of support for a marriage that only lasted a year. It's way more than the norm.
Terrence now says he agreed to pay her for 5 years because she extorted him, and he says some of it is on tape. He says while they were bickering about the amount of support he'd pay her she threatened to release naked photos and video of him unless she got what she wanted.
In the docs filed by his attorney Brian Kramer, Terrence says he secretly recorded her saying, "I can make a good $2 million right now ... you want to see your little **** out there in front of TV?"
Terrence says he has her on tape saying she will tell every woman in the world he gave her an STD.
He says she's also caught on tape saying, "Trust me, you're f****** with the wrong person. You f***** with me way too much. I will f****** bury you deep in the ground."
Terrence wants the judge to throw out the settlement agreement so he doesn't have to pay the balance. The settlement runs for another year, but she'd be entitled to a big chunk of his "Empire" salary, which is expected to swell for season 2.
